Hi all cadet WF fencers,
I wanted to advise that entries for the Welsh Cadet Championships are now open on Sport80 - the event is taking place at WIS, Sofia Gardens, Cardiff on Sunday 1st February
The championships double up as the BYC qualifiers.

To avoid the need for 2 separate events with all the costs that entails for parents and the organisers, this is going to be a single event which acts as the Welsh Cadet Championships and the BYC Qualifiers. It will enable all fencers to fence multiple weapons if desired.
The entry fee is a flat rate of £20 regardless of how many weapons a fencer enters. Because of the way Sport80 works, a weapon has to be selected, so regardless of which weapon(s) you wish to fence, please select "Foil". You will then be contacted by the organisers for which weapon(s) you would like to enter on the day.
Care will be taken to ensure the best possible experience for all fencers, taking into account age, experience and ability. We will maximise the fencing for all competitors and the format will be finalised once the entry date has closed.
All weapons will be fenced electronically throughout, and fencers should ensure that they have BF "Compete" membership.
All clothing and equipment must conform to British Fencing regulations, under plastrons must be worn. Due to size 5 swords being used by some fencers on the day, these must be 800N.
We are aware some younger fencers may not have an 800N plastron. If you do not have an 800N plastron, please email matthew.russell@fencing.cymru as we are planning to have loan ones available on the day and it is necessary to know how many to bring.
